Breaths in 3/4

Video
2.2.1 - Lavender_s Blue.pdf

In “Lavender’s Blue” look at bar 4 where the first phrase ends. To show the breath that needs to happen on the third beat, do two things: make the second beat passive and then make a pronounced lift on the third. In effect, this will provide an entire crotchet rest for your singers to breathe. When your basics are solid you will learn to reduce this to a quaver rest and be able to show it.
