Ending a Piece

Video
1.7.2 - Here Comes a Blue-bird.pdf

In “Here Comes a Bluebird”, observe how the conductor cuts off the last note. They stop on the last note and then begin the cut-off circle on the second beat of this bar with an ‘up, down’ circle gesture. The hand rises from the beating plane on the second beat and comes down on the 1st beat of an imaginary extra bar.

Conduct “Here Comes a Bluebird”, showing the cut-off at the end. Then conduct it again while either singing it yourself, or, even better, having someone else sing it for you.
