Direct Changes of Tempo

Video
4.2.2 - Bartók - Bolyongás.pdf

The challenge for the conductor is that, with abrupt changes, there is no real preparatory time. In bar 15 of Bartók’s “Bolyongás”, the tempo suddenly returns to tempo 1, with no break between the two tempi. You have to show a clear change of tempo on the final beat of bar 14.

Conduct from the beginning of the Bartók, showing the change in bar 7 as well as the more abrupt change in bar 15.
