10 Standard notation. Major and minor melodies.

Video

In this program, we are already using the standard stave, though maintaining the coloured key signature and fingerings.
We recommend introducing the notion of “minor” with the natural minor scales and songs. The learning of the melodic minor is always problematic for the young student, who will wonder why the ascending and descending scales are played differently. The melodic and harmonic minor scales are derived from the natural minor and they should be taught later.
