In this lesson, various stylistic features of the Baroque era (e.g.: hemiola, Baroque harmonic sequence, polyphony, melodic minor scale) are taught by using the beautiful Purcell Aria “Thanks to these lonesome vales” (from the opera Dido and Aeneas).
