Following the success of the first “International Istanbul Kodály Education Days” in 2017, the Atatürk Faculty of Education of the Marmara University with the support of the Consulate General of Hungary in Istanbul and the Hungarian Cultural Center will organize the “2nd International Istanbul Kodály Education Days" between 18-21 September 2019.


The Istanbul Kodály Education Days are very important and valuable in terms of the introduction and dissemination of Kodály Music Education Approach in Turkey and its applicability in school music education.


"The feedback we received from our attendees of the first Kodály Education Days, which we organized for the first time in 2017, gave us courage and responsibility for arranging the second" - said Prof. Dr. Sibel Çoban on behalf of the organising committee.


The workshops and masterclasses, which are grouped under five main headings: “Choir and Choir Conducting”, “Solfege Training”, “Kokas Pedagogy”, “Class Music Education” and “Instrument Training” will be delivered by internationally recognized artists and educators from Kodály Institute and highly recognised Kodály experts:

EDINA BARABAS – Solfege


LUCINDA GEOGHEGAN – Music Pedagogy-Teaching Methods (Early childhood, elementary, secondary classroom music education)


PROF. GÉZA SZILVAY – Colourstrings Method for Violin Teaching


CSABA SZILVAY – Colourstrings Method for Cello Teaching

About Kodályhub

The Kodály HUB is a public on-line Knowledge Centre in which a Musicbook, a Community, a Calendar and further resources are available to assist teachers in their everyday work. The Songbook contains several hundred songs and music listening materials from all over the world. The songs are analysed using many key, searchable parameters and (when relevant) accompanied by a game or movement activity to support the teaching objectives and increase the enjoyment of the lesson.
